The gods aren't dead or a myth: the Roman gods are still alive, and to this date, they are mating with humans. Their children? They reside here for training and protection.

Caleb had started to adjust to living at Camp Demi-Blood. He'd proved his worth with his wit and quick thinking under pressure, but those morning runs made him want to go home immediately. Suddenly, he stopped. What home? He had no home. Both of his parents were dead and the closest thing he had to a "home" was the little house on the other side of the country with his only living relatives.

It wasn't really the running part that was so awful. Given Caleb's body structure, he was usually the first demigod done, and not nearly as worn out as the rest of them. The effects of the morning work out usually came later on in the day when he threw up or just collapsed. The part he didn't like was being forced to rise before the sun did and run like Zeus had a personalized bolt of lightning on your tail.

Many of the camp's demigods considered him to be weak, mainly the children of Mars, but the majority of the campers here stayed all year and therefore didn't understand concepts like math and science or literature, things that came easy to Caleb because he had mortal world training as well. Not many demigods had that, because they came to Lupa at a very young age. Caleb had, too, although he was so young he didn't remember. His uncle, though, had convinced Lupa to let baby Caleb stay with his family for a little while longer. It made Caleb wonder why his mother never talked about uncle Richard, even if Richard himself was a demigod.

Caleb threw himself on one of the few open beds; there were at least 3 open beds because many of the new demigods that showed up were deemed "weak" or "unworthy" by the camp director and a good majority of the campers. He reached under the bed for his drawstring bag and pulled out one of his mother's favorite books "To Kill a Mockingbird". He'd read it at least five times, but just kept rereading it until he could make friends with a child of Mercury who could steal him more books. So far, that wasn't looking so good, because almost everybody at camp didn't think it was fair for a wimp like him to have made it into Camp Demi-Blood.

TRIVIA:

Trivia was sat among the council, arguing with Discordia. The stupid woman was causing too much chaos in places that she wanted to have a bit of peace for once. Of course, Discordia didn't understand peace. Not at all. With a sigh Trivia set a silencing spell on Discordia. "For Jupiter's sake Discordia! Will you never cease to amaze me with you're constant bickering and refusal to let one country have peace for a single day?" She said, glaring at the other goddess. The other gods remained silent, one of two of them shifting in there seats uncomfortably and clearing their throats.
"Well.. I call this meeting adjurned for now, We will continue tomorrow, when Discordia retrieves her voice." Jupiter said, standing up and then disapearing with a bright flash. The other gods followed suit, each disapearing in their own individual way.

Eventually only Trivia remained, seated in her magical seat. She glanced down at the mortal world, feeling the need to make a short visit, claim one of her children, calm down. Her eye sight zoomed in on one particular child, Caleb Hanson. The boy was sat on his bunk, reading a book, one that she had read many times over. She smiled as she appeared in front of him. She had changedher form slightly, to look more mother like, but to still look powerful. The air around her sparkled with different colours as her magic was released subconciously.

"Caleb Hanson," She began, waving her hand so her symbol appeared above his head, "I claim you as a son of Trivia, and give you this gift." She said, holding out a rare magic book. It would teach him some spells that her other children didn't know, and some that they did. She smiled at her son for a moment then in a flash of magic disapeared.

Caleb sensed something was happening when there was a warm gust of wind inside of the tent. First of all, it was almost winter, so Caleb knew it was unnatural. He assumed it was one of Mars's unclaimed kids, breaking wind in their sleep, so he didn't look up. When he remembered that he was alone in the cabin, he set the book down and looked around, his eyes focusing on a woman's slight figure at the foot of the bed. She looked kind and motherly, and at the same time radiated colors and various forms of magic that told Caleb she was a very powerful being. When she spoke, her voice pulled up memories buried deep in the back of the boy's mind. He'd been born on Olympus, he remembered how beautiful it was, and he'd been delivered to his father, Jared the Military Man, while he'd been on leave from the Air Force. A few years later, Caleb assumed Jared had married Charlotte.

Caleb stared from the woman who called herself Trivia, to the symbol above his head, then back to Trivia. "Son of Trivia?" No sound came out of his lips, but he mouthed the words disbelievingly. Caleb's took off his glasses then rubbed his eyes, thinking that this was some sort of dream. When he opened his eyes, everything was blurry, but he could clearly see that this wasn't a dream. He slipped the glasses back on and found his mother holding a large, leather-bound book out to him. He'd seen books like these in Harry Potter, and creepy Halloween specials on television; it was a spellbook. A real spellbook with actual spells in them. Caleb took it gently and held it gingerly in his arms. "Thank you," he whispered to Trivia, his mother. He met her smile with one of his own before she disappeared in a flash of multicolored light.
